Birds and butterflies cushions available soon! A perfect gift this Christmas...

I'm using the birds and butterflies design on this new cushion.  I'm having several made up for me so drop me a line if you'd like to own one.   Handmade duck filled feather cushion in my very own exclusive birds and butterflies fabric with a turquoise taffeta back, is £60 plus postage and packaging.  Go on, they'd make great gifts this Christmas!

Very tasteful. Cabbages and Cushions latest gorgeous window display, featuring my very own wallpapers.

I was so pleased to see my wallpapers in this gorgeous window display in Hebden Bridge last week when I went to meet my good friend Rachael for coffee.  Lou, owner of interiors shop Cabbages and Cushions on Market Street, has given me lots of valuable advice and tips on everything from sample books to buyers habits and how to promote my work.  Cabbages and Cushions was the first shop to stock my papers, and is the first to do a window display too.  Thank you Lou!

Hebden was busy when I took these photos - there was a brill outdoor food market with local food artisans selling their produce.  I've come home with a jar of fabulous Piccalilli from Nanna Tilly, which goes down very well with Leagram's sheep's cheese.   Yum!

The boudoir...wake up and smell the coffee...mmm

Very cosy!

Well, they are just lovely on the walls!

Its taken a while, and I'm by no means finished, but Mark the Decorator has been round to hang my wallpapers so I have some 'in situ' photos.  Mark's view was that the paper was great quality (he should know, he hangs millions of rolls of it!), and handled really well, so that's good news!  It really helps to see how the paper looks in a space - this is in my home and I'm chuffed with how they look, quite proud!  Here, have a look...

Lampshades and cushions, and textures and patterns...

Now, I'm not certain my little addition to the lampshade family is quite up to the same scrutiny as the ones that Genie Lampshades made for me, but on the whole I'm rather pleased with the result!  A new cushion design too.  Now I'm looking for a good printer to print me some lovely linen napkins and tea towels so my range is just about big enough for an online shop.

New wallpaper coming soon

The birds and butterflies design (Papillon?) which is by far my most popular design, is coming soon!  I should have some samples in a week or two so order now in the comment box if you'd like one as it's not on the website yet.   I can't wait!

A warm breeze also brought me a little invitation to show my designs in Paris, but more on that later...

Luxurious Dupion silk lampshades have arrived!

I'm just thrilled to bits with these two beauties!  They arrived by courier this afternoon - 2 huge boxes! They are hand-made by the lovely Kath at Genie Lampshades and covered with my Coriolacae design printed on raw Dupion silk in silver grey, and with a gorgeous warm gold lining.  Keep your eye on my website - I'm planning to add them very soon.

Review of Independent Interiors Show - 2022 Manchester

My sample box - Photo by Hannah Nunn

Love this pendant light by Scandinord
It was an exciting day last Saturday at the first ever Independent Interiors Show.   The show was held in a very cool basement venue in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, on Dale Street (just along from Affleck’s Palace for those who know).  Me and my wallpapers had a stand along with 21 other exhibitors showing their ranges of gorgeous lamps, cushions, ceramics, furniture, fabrics, stationary and artworks.  I was proud to be in the company of such a lot of very talented designers, and all from the north of England.

You see, this show was my very first trade show, the first time I had shown my wallpapers to the public, the first time I had stood beside my work looking for reactions to it.  How utterly nerve-wracking!   I needn’t have worried though as reactions were really good, great even – phew!  It was a busy day with a steady stream of visitors all day, and I just had the chance to meet some of the other very friendly exhibitors before we got going at 11am.  I had had my eye on several potential purchases (loving the work of Scandinord, Annabel Perrin and Liz Foster Design!) but alas never got the chance to find my purse!  My friend, Hannah Nunn had her amazing paper lamps on show, which gave out a nice cosy glow next to my stand, and was also showing her lovely new range of wallpapers too!

Thank you to the Rachael Adams and Victoria Watson from The Social Butterfly for organising such a lovely and successful event – count me in for next April’s follow-up show.  Thank you also if you came to see my wallpaper, and for your very encouraging words (the ‘wow’s and ‘gorgeous’s will not be forgotten).  I’ve come away from the show all excited and raring to go – plans are afoot for the production of the birds and butterflies wallpaper that was definitely the most popular paper on the day, more cushions, fabrics and perhaps some lampshades too!
